Christmas In Iraq.

Merry Christmas!

Every hope, every dream, every eye looks towards king of peace...

The essential message for Christmas; is not about decoration trees, or lights, it is not about santa claus, it is not about some sweets, it is about submitting Jesus Christ's message, telling us every year how we should forgiving, loving, sharing good & bad times with each one of us, how we should act like Jesus Christ, as a humble child; the child of peace; the child of love so, happy birthday Jesus Christ, today is a savior's day.

Many people has attened Christmas ceremonies with a good protection from government, churchs were surrounded by police men with their cars, from 2 sides & from behind too, that was a good sign for us to attened our holy mass to the end, women & children dressing santa claus clothes.

People were praying for peace into Iraq  & for love, & for a happy holydays, not just for Iraq but for all people through the world, from north to south ,from east to west.

Christmas ceremonies went well through amid of threats...

Hello Freedom and WEVA too,
I already sent you a Christmas card, so I don't have to wish you a Merry Christmas do I? Oh, LOL, Merry Christmas.

Well, we need you two in the West to remind people of the true meaning of Christmas. ))) And if the church allows women to become priests, well, look at the opportunity for you two. )))

But I think the church should allow married men to become priests. Was not the Apostle Peter married? If it was good enough for the "rock" upon which the church was founded and whose behavior all Christians should emulate, it should be good enough for the modern church. )))

And what would Jesus think if he suddenly appeared in Iraq this Christmas and saw all the armed soldiers protecting the churches?

Would he think they were like the Roman centurions but with guns instead of swords? Would he worry they might try to crucify him?

And what does it say, that you need all this security to safely attend church? And what happens when the security goes away?

Freedom + WEVA, I am glad to read that police surrounded the churches and ceremonies. They should have done that a long time ago.

Be safe and God bless.

Yeah Muhannad, because there's nothing that says freedom of worship more than having to be surrounded by armed forces to worship peacefully.

What kind of nonsense is that?

Yeah Mideast Muslim persecution of Christian nonsense.

So should the police not surround the churches?

Mister Ghost said...

Well, obviously it's better that they have some protection, but having to surround places of worship with armed men - it is an outrageous notion.

And the Christians having to call off Christmas celebrations in Iraq:

Iraqi Christians on Wednesday called off Christmas festivities across the country. . . . Church officials in the northern cities of Kirkuk and Mosul, the southern city of Basra and in the capital confirmed they will not put up Christmas decorations or hold evening Mass and have urged worshippers to refrain from decorating their homes. Even an appearance by Santa Claus was called off. . . .

When there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 religious holidays for Iraq's Muslims - it is obscene...

Mister Ghost said...

That should be 120 days allocated for religious holidays instead - LOL, there are so many days relegated for religious events, that even Hayder thought they had gone overboard. )))

It seems that every public place in Iraq had to be protected, including Hussayniyas (Shia mosques) and Shia ceremonies. Why not Churches? I guess it takes a massacre of Christians to compel the government to send police to protect the Churches. It is very sad for all Iraqis and embarrassing for the Shia-led govt.
