Peace, Peace Then Peace....

After this picture I don't have any word to tell, really I don't have, my eyes filled with tears...
I feel that, they were my family, I feel I lost them in this barbarian crime at Our Lady of Salvation Church in Baghdad, I can't find any word to say...

We are calling for peace, we are calling for love into our land...

Why,Why & Why????????????????

Hello Freedom and WEVA too,
You have done a great job in your coverage of the church and beyond.
It is always the imagery of young children dying that is i the most brutal to see.

You know, it is not even Thanksgiving here, but the local radio stations are playing Christmas songs and carols.

While I was looking at this post, Do You Hear What I Hear? was on the radio:

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
"Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, mighty king,
Do you know what I know?
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold--
Let us bring him silver and gold,
Let us bring him silver and gold."

And here you have this poor Iraqi child, likely the best time of the year, Christmas was upcoming for the poor child and it will never experience it now.

I see France has taken in many of the survivors of the massacre - it is disappointing the US didn't do so, but our President is off in Indonesia at the moment, probably looking for a golf course.

My deepest condolences, Freedom. It is a horrible thing to have to endure.

I can't say whether it is best to stay or to leave. That is a personal decision that each must make. And it is a decision that has had to be made many times in the past.

Mr. Ghost mentioned your site at Zeyad's. I will have to go back and read your archives when I get the chance.

Take care.

Hello Mister Ghost,

Thank you for your compliment, it is our duty to show the world a small part of the reality here, at least from our point of view...

It is a disgraceful crime at our church to anyone who believes in violent, any human being, shame on any person who believes in that, he is without doubts belongs to animality theory in my opinion, because people were worshiping GOD in their holy places, they didn't hurt anyone, they were praying for peace in Iraq.

I can't really imagine how they could kill this poor child only 3 months?????
How dare they do that????
What crime did she commit????????

She is an angel, & I'm sure she is smiling now in heaven...

Of course we forgive but we will never forget!

I don't think we will smile again after this crime,a life extinguished, childhood dreams made dead since that date.

Yes, France did some good offer, & this is my question too, why U.S didn't offered such kind of help? I know they spent millions of dollars here & they gave their life too, but this is a special case!!!

& where is the Vatican from this issue???

Where is the pope???

Hello Lynnette

Thank you for your feelings in this horrible event, Yes it is personal, but many Christians are thinking for leaving Iraq. There is no any future for Christians here, well this is my thoughts, We have no leader or army to protect us, no rights here, so why should we stay here ????
It is our land but, not anymore

Hello Freedom and WEVA too,
The US has done very little for Iraq's Christians. And it certainly isn't going to change under Obama, who regards Iraq as Bush's war. And of course, Bush the self proclaimed Christian ignored the Iraqi Christians and it is one of the black marks of his Presidency.

Where is the Pope and the Vatican? Well, they released their usual statement of condemnation, but it's the same generic statement they issue every time there's an attack on Christians in the Middle East.

I think they issue the same statement every two weeks. ))

The Western Catholic Church and Bishops/Cardinals have done minimal to help the Mideast Christians.

Your best hope is to pretend you're a lost tribe of Vietnamese boat people. )))

The US took in 823,000 Vietnamese refugees, many which were resettled through the help of the Catholic Church.

From Wikipedia:

The Roman Catholic Church, given its long history with the Vietnamese people, facilitated the relocation of a massive number of Vietnamese boat people through it many Orders and charities. Of note was the work of the Vietnamese Refugee Office of Caritas Italiana, a major Catholic Italian charity, under the leadership of Monsignor Tran Van Hoai.

It is, in the West, impossible to imagine this kind of violence. But in the absence of true security, the instincts of certain people or groups against others who are their neighbors and countrymen sometimes lead to evil acts like this one. I do not know why the Christians are not helped. It reminds me of reading about the marauder Ahmed Gragn, whose Muslim rebellion gutted the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in the 14th century (before this time, 9 out of 10 of the country's largest ethnic group, the Oromo, were Christian; after it, 9 out of 10 were Muslim). This terrorism and violence was stopped with help from the Western Christian powers, specifically the Portuguese. When we see similar attempts at wholesale extermination and genocide in Iraq, who can come to stop it? Who will be "Iraq's Portugal"? No one, I am sad to say. Not only did the West help create this entire mess, it is a sad fact that the Western world does not see any common cause or common humanity in the Christians of Iraq, because the Western world is largely post-religious and often actively anti-Christian. They only have to worry about the more numerous Arab Muslims, just like what happened when the British betrayed the Assyrians back in the 1930s. Back then it led to the Simele massacre. Today, it may end with the disappearance of Christianity in Iraq altogether (and maybe eventually all of the east). May God help everyone so that this time they can see what is happening and there are no more dead innocents.
